Kačina castle

Our wedding ceremony will take place at the castle Kačina in the village of Saint Nicolaus (Svatý Mikuláš), just outside of the city of Kutná Hora. In particular, the ceremony will take place in the castle library in the south wing of the castle. The castle and the surrounding park belong to the Czech National Museum of Agriculture and the castle will be still open for other visitors. That means there will be also other people around, not only our wedding guests. 

The pathways around the castle can become a little bit softer when wet. In case of rain, please bring some spare shoes. You can put on your nice shoes inside the library.

Arrival and parking

Please, plan your arrival to 11.20 at the latest! The ceremony will not start until a bit later but you will have to park the car, walk to the library, be identified by our coordinators and enter the library. You can also arrive earlier and use your spare time to walk around the park and the castle.

Parking is possible on the official parking ground (see map, for free) or next to the restaurant across the road (paid). If all would get full, you will be guided to ad-hoc parking on a field also across the road.

At 11:30 be ready at the entrance to the library.

The library and the ceremony proceedings

At half-past eleven be ready at the library entrance (the north entrance, from the side of the main castle entrance). 

Our wedding coordinators (Petra and Jirka) will be aiding us with organizing the things there and they will not know you personally. In case they would need to identify you, please show them your wedding invitation or show them this website on your phone :)  

Please abide by all of the instructions given by the coordinators. Our time inside the library is strictly limited to one hour. The ceremony will take place directly in the middle round part of the library. Once you enter, you can stand around the entire circle alongside the columns (see the picture). 

Please do not take photos or videos of us during the ceremony. Rather enjoy the moment fully together with us. We will gladly share with you photos made by our professional photographer (here on the website). 

End of the ceremony and leaving for the party

For the aisle at the end of the ceremony: don't bring rice! It would be very hard to clean it from the floor of the library and from the area in front. Dried flower petals will be ready for you to use instead.

After our walk through the aisle, we will go quickly to snap a few extra private photos in the library to use the remaining time. You will be guided to the back of the castle (see map) where the group photo will be taken. We will come there just about the time you will be all ready for the picture.

After that, we will all leave in an organized column for the party celebration at our family orchard, where there will be food, music and games for everyone. Our coordinators will help with the organization of the column and transport.
